New GP insomnia training course: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia


New GP insomnia training course: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia - Focussed Psychological Strategies (FPS), 14-15 June 2025 (Hybrid delivery)

This new training course for GPs in managing insomnia in the primary care setting is provided by the Sleep Health team at Flinders University. Focussed Psychological Strategies (FPS) are specific mental healthcare management strategies based on evidence-based psychological therapies. This course content includes measuring and understanding sleep, assessment and treatment of insomnia using cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia, and case discussions.
 
The General Practice Mental Health Standards Collaboration (GPMHSC) has accredited the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia - Focussed Psychological Strategies as an FPS ST activity. This training aligns with GPMHSC learning outcomes to ensure that GPs meet all the learning outcomes to achieve FPS Level Two accreditation.
