New guide available for download

The National Mental Health Commission has recently published the Consumer and carer engagement: A practical guide. The new guide is intended to provide a clear framework and outlines a set of best practice principles in consumer and carer engagement and participation.

A key requirement of GPMHSC accredited MHST and FPS ST activities is the engagement of both a consumer and carer representative in all stages of the planning, development, delivery and review of education for the opportunity to share their journeys through the health system and in recovery.

The GPMHSC encourages all accredited training providers to read the new practical guide by visiting the National Mental Health Commission website.
