Message from Chair

Hello from the General Practice Mental Health Standards Collaboration (GPMHSC), and welcome to the winter edition of our newsletter.

Focussed psychological strategies CPD requirements

As we head towards the end of the triennium, I’d like to remind all GP providers of focussed psychological strategies (FPS) of their requirement to complete one FPS CPD activity before 31 December 2022.

This will ensure you remain compliant and registered with Medicare Australia into the next triennium. You can find a number of GPMHSC-accredited FPS CPD activities on our website.

Mental health treatment plan templates for specific populations

We’re currently collating the information and advice provided by our working group members on the mental health treatment plan (MHTP) templates for specific populations.

We’re looking forward to sharing these templates with you. In the meantime, you can access the current GP MHTP templates on our website.

Progress on the updated Mental Health Standards 2023–25

The GPMHSC has worked tirelessly to make the Mental Health Standards more concise and easier to read. We’ll release the updated Standards towards the end of the 2020–22 triennium.
