New standards for mental health training

The GPMHSC has officially released the Mental health training standards for 2023–25.

This document outlines the standards of mental health training and education that GPs must meet to be eligible to access general practice mental health care MBS item numbers under the Better Access initiative.

It also highlights what GPs should consider when selecting mental health CPD so their skills and knowledge in mental health are up to date and broad.
