Self-care for GPs during the COVID-19 pandemic

GPs and practice staff may experience additional pressure in providing care and support to patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. In helping to alleviate some of the emotional and psychological responses during such challenging times, GPs need to be able to identify triggers that affect their own mental health and wellbeing.

The GPMHSC recommends that GPs and practice staff are familiar with available mental health resources and services. This also includes taking the time to implement self-care strategies and asking for additional support from colleagues.

Visit the RACGP website for more information on self-care and mental health resources for GPs.
