Distance learning – The new COVID-normal
Even though some training providers are beginning to resume delivery of their face-to-face workshops, it appears these activities may run at a limited capacity for some time. An alternative may be to consider re-developing existing training and education via distance learning formats that do not involve face-to-face contact.
Training providers are encouraged to submit a distance learning application to the GPMHSC. This will involve providing a written response addressing:
- specific details on the distance learning software and technology used
- how the software and technology will monitor and record attendance and active participation of attendees
- clear explanation on how the distance learning experience will align with the same requirements of face-to-face education
- details regarding interactivity and, more specifically, how the new platform will encourage participants to ask questions and interact with the facilitator and other group members.
