Notifying Medicare of your completed Mental Health Skills Training

The GPMHSC Secretariat will advise Medicare Australia of your Mental Health Skills Training (MHST) completion only when the following requirements are met:

• successful completion of an accredited MHST course (can be either the primary or modular pathway)
• the GPMHSC has a record of your Medicare provider number.

The Secretariat sends a fortnightly update to Medicare, notifying them of GPs who have met the above requirements. GPs should receive a letter from Medicare within 4–6 weeks after the notification date, advising eligibility for MBS items 2715 and 2717.

Upon completion of MHST email the GPMHSC Secretariat or call 03 8699 0556 to ensure we have a record of your Medicare provider number.
